Does Sealcoating prevent
potholes?
Yes, the sun turns asphalt gray due
to the oxidation of oils from the asphalt, leading to loose rock in the
pavement, eventually causing potholes. Sealer puts liquid back into the asphalt
leaving the pavement looking rich and dark.
Is sand necessary when
Sealcoating?
Sand should always be in the sealer.
Not all companies use sand due to the cost. Sand prevents the surface from becoming
slick when wet and helps the sealer to last longer. Blalock Paving always
includes sand in their mix. Make sure sealcoating quotes include sand.
